Life in WindClan Camp

Honeystar gazed at the Leafbare night sky from his den. A big snow-fall had been going on all day, and the warriors were just finished removing it from the Main Clearing. Hopefully we will have enough prey to get us through to New-leaf. Getting up he walked over towards the fresh-kill pile to check on it.

Fang wrote:"Somewhere covered, I don`t like this wind! It`s annoying!" He nuzzled her, purring. "Come on, let`s go see Snowlily! And how long do you plan on staying here? Because I`m sure Pain isn`t very fond of the kits without us around." He laughed at the thought of the murderous tom.

Iceclaw chuckled and nuzzled him back. "I'll stay for a few days, since the journey from WindClan to IceClan is really far. I've twisted my leg a little so I'll rest for awhile." she mewed, limping slightly to prove her point. She glanced around the WindClan camp. "Where's Snowlily?" she asked, searching for the distinctive white fur of her adopted sister.

"Alrighty then!" He tossed Iceclaw onto his back and padded over to Honeystar "Do you know where Snowlily is?" Fang opened his mouth, scenting for Snowlily.

Fernleaf wrote:Fernleaf stretched and watched Riversong pad away, her wound carefully wrapped in cobwebs and covered with marigold poultice. Glancing around, she noticed Honeystar padding around the camp, softly calling her name. Fernleaf glanced at Echosong. "Be right back," she mewed, and hurried after the WindClan leader, licking marigold juice off her paws as she went. "You were looking for me, Honeystar?"

"Yes Fernleaf." Honeystar answered. "I was hoping you could come check on Snowlily and her kits. They've been traveling far to get here, and I think Snowlily has a swollen paw that's getting worse." Without waiting for an answer, he went back to Snowlily. He realized that the camp was full of more visiting cats. I guess we won't be going for that walk after all. When he got to the nursery, he decided to have some fun. After making sure his path was clear, he went full speed inside and playfully pounced on his mate by surprise. *Glomp!!!* "Got you!" He purred happily as he began licking her along the ears affectionately.

Fernleaf dipped her head. "Alright," she called after Honeystar. "I'll be right there!" Bounding back to the medicine den, she wrapped up a bundle of comfrey, poppy-seeds, and dock. Nosing her way back out of the den, she trotted back toward Honeystar. "Where's Snowlily?" She paused, frowning, and added. "Do you want me to give her poppy seeds and let her sleep it off, or do you want her for something tonight...?"

Snowlily could sense his anxiety. ”What is it Honeystar? Is something wrong?” She stood up and padded over to him lightly, careful to keep most of the weight off her swollen paw. ” What has you so flustered?” she nuzzled him. ”What's all of the noise in camp about?” She mewed as she gazed at the Windclan leader. Flicking her tail to call her kits to her, she licked the tops of their heads and ushered them out of the nursery. ”You three could use some exercise. Don't cause the other cats or our guests and grief”, she purred. She turned back to Honeystar now and tucked her tail neatly over her paws as she dug her claws into the ground nervously tearing up the earth beneath her.

Fang ran over, Iceclaw on his back still "Hey, Snowlily! There you are! We were looking for you. Are you ok?" He noticed her anxiety.

Honeystar softly purred as he licked Snowlily's cheeks and stroked her back with his tail.
"I just wanted to let you know I'm still here..Yeah as you can see, a lot more cats have come to visit us. I probably should go back and make sure Fernleaf is coming." Getting up he walked out of the Nursery. "Oh, and thanks for coming Fang, Iceclaw."

"No problem! I just stalked Iceclaw. She twisted her leg, it`s not bad, but she might need something for it if you don`t mind." He set her down and sat down, his tail curled around his paws.

Fernleaf padded up with the comfrey. "Hey Snowlily," she meowed. She bent over the she-cat's paw and chewed up the comfrey-and-dock poultice. Plastering it on Snowlily's paw, Fernleaf asked, "Do you want poppy seeds for the pain, or can you manage without it?" Glancing over at Iceclaw, she sighed and tugged a rush from her bundle. As she waited for a reply, she set to work on Iceclaw's leg.

She purred warmly for a moment and nodded to Honeystar, then watched as he padded out of the den and back to the busy camp. ” So many visitors lately...” She mewed to no one in particlar. The fur along her spine rose slightly as she picked up the scent of her old clanmates. She shot her gaze towards the entrance of the nursery and saw Fang and Iceclaw. ”You came!” A long purr escaped her throat as her gaze softened and her pelt flattened back out. She watched as Fang placed Iceclaw down beside her before padding over to her and nuzzling her. She lied down and made herself comfortable in a bed of moss as Fernleaf came in. She looked down at her swollen pa as she placed the poultice on it. At first she winced from the sting but as the moments past it began to feel cool. ” I'll be okay with just this. Thank you” she purred warmly.

"Your welcome," Fernleaf replied, with a small purr. "Alright, Iceclaw. I think this is just a sprain. I'll wrap it up the same way I did with Snowlily's, until the swelling goes down. You should rest right now, instead of running about on Fang's back." She looiked sternly at Fang, but the effect was ruined when she let out a snort of amusement. "Why don't you come into my den? Or you can stay here with Snowlily. At least she'll keep you busy."

After talking with many of the newly arriving cats, Honeystar checked into the Nursery again. "So how is your paw feeling now Snowlily?" he asked. "Do you think it will be better soon enough to go on that walk we were talking about?"

Snowlily let out an amused purr at how silly Fang looked carrying Iceclaw before she looked back at her mate as he padded in. After checking her paw, she glanced at Fernleaf before answering. ”I assume it will be alright after the swelling goes down. So who are all of these visitors that are all arriving now?” she mewed curiously. Her claws were unsheathered as the dug into the bedding that lined her nest. She was getting a bit uneasy with all the activity around the camp. Especially when she wasn't able to leave the camp and never seemed to get too many visitors in the nursery. She let out a small sigh. She stared at the ground for several moments lost in thoughts of Iceclan. So much is changing so fast... I wonder what's going on back in Iceclan now anyway. Snowlily peeked outside of the entrance at the mountain view. She felt her heart drop and for a moment she thought about everything that happened there.

Iceclaw blushed deeply as Fang easily scooped her up onto his back and pelted towards the medicine cat's den. "Fang!" she chided, feeling slightly shocked, but enjoying the warmth of her mate. Upon reaching the medicine cat's den, she gracefully slid of his back, giving a quick lick on his forehead before dipping her head in greeting at Fernleaf.

"Uh s.. sure," Iceclaw replied uncertainly before asking with a tinge of suspicion. "No bitter herbs?" She cringed at the thought of tasting bitter herbs. She had a strong dislike for them when she was young.

"No bitter herbs," Fernleaf confirmed with a purr. "You don't need to eat anything for a sprained leg, although I'd like to give you some juniper berries for strength. They don't taste bad." As she spoke, Fernleaf carefully added some more poultice on Iceclaw's leg before binding it up with cobwebs. "Why don't you rest here? Or at least right outside the den beside the pool. That way, I can keep an eye on you, and you can still visit your friends." With a sweep of her tail, Fernleaf gathered up the herbs in a pile and swept them aside. "Are you hungry?"

Iceclaw eyed Fernleaf suspiciously but let her work on her leg. She let out a contented purr when she felt a cooling sensation on the injured area. "Thanks, Fernleaf! I'm off to look for Fang and Snowlily!" She mewed cheerfully, padding out of the den with a slight limp in her pawsteps.

I'll be fine, don't worry!" Iceclaw added," I'll grab a piece of prey later!"

"Well.." Honeystar began as he got comfortable next to Snowlily. "You already saw Fang and Iceclaw," giving a slight mrrow of amusement. "And you know Specklepaw? Cheesestar's apprentice. Came over with a lasagna for us." He stopped and noticed Snowlily's un-easiness. Giving a reassuring and affectionate lick to her ears he purred. "Everything ok Hima?"

At the sound of her name, Iceclaw spun around, scanning the entire WindClan camp until her icy gaze finally rested on Honeystar and Snowlily. She let out a delighted purr at the familiar mew of the WindClan leader and her adopted sister. She licked the golden-furred tom respectfully and dipped her head. Then she padded over and nuzzled her sister. "Glad you're settling here! How's life?" she asked, feeling curious.

Fang padded over to Iceclaw, scanning her leg "Make sure you sit on it right, I don"t want you hurting it worse." He licked her leg softly, and soothingly.
"Hmm...It doesn"t look to bad, I say you"ll be running around in a few days." He sat next to her and nodded his greetings to Honeystar and Snowlily.

Iceclaw felt a fluttery sensation in her heart as Fang padded over towards her, licking her leg with smooth rhythmic licks. She nipped his ear playfully and burst into fits of laughters. "Of course I will!" she replied indignantly.
